Bose announces a first pair of wireless in-ear headphones-- the SoundSport Free, an offering similar to the likes of the Apple AirPods, being a pair of buds one puts in the ear without need for connecting wires.

Bose SoundSport FreeThe SoundSport Free are designed for sports and other physical activities. Silicon StayHear+ sport tips ensure a comfortable tip, while an IPX4 water resistance rating protects the buds against sweat or water. Connectivity comes through Bluetooth and a Bose Connect iOS/Android app complete with a "Find My Buds" feature able to display the last known location and time of use of the headphones.

The company claims battery life reaches up to 5 hours. The included charging/carry case adds a further 10 hours of use. Controls are found at the top of the buds, with access to play, pause, skip track, take and end phone call controls. Users also access Siri and Google Assistant for voice-based smartphone control.
